Peter Gallan Post 104

 On the twenty fifth day of August 1924, the National Executive Committee of the American Legion granted a charter to seventeen Veterans of WW1 for the formation of a post of the American Legion at Taftville, Ct. under the name of Peter Gallan Post 104.

The post was named in honor of Peter Gallen who died serving his country during World War 1. He was a US Army Private and was killed in action on Sept. 14, 1918, in Romagne France, while serving with the 113th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division.

He is buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, burial Plot A Row 45 Grave 25 in Romagne, France.

The  founding members were as follows: Thomas Labbe, Napoleon J.Pepin, Leon Molleur, Andrew Le Blanc, Donas Simineau, Stanislas Benac, Victor Gauvin, Edward Kelly, Thomas P. Sears, George W. Weller Jr., John J. Pussek, Wilfred Bibeau, Daniel F. McSheffrey, Joseph Cormier, Prosper Lurette, Alfred Roberts, and Eugene Mercier.
